This shell-and-tube heat exchanger is purpose-built for cooling concentrated sulfuric acid (93% to 99%) in contact plant drying and absorption processes. Standard materials deteriorate rapidly in hot acid environments, but our anodic protection system ensures exceptional corrosion resistance and extended service life.
Anodic Protection System Operation
The system maintains stainless steel components within the optimal electrical "passive range" to prevent corrosion. This is achieved through an integrated system including cathode assemblies (long rods through the shell or pins in nozzles), reference electrodes for monitoring, and a potentiostat for DC current control.
